CY is committed to becoming an anti-racist organization. We will expand the depth and breadth of opportunities for our staff, board, singers, and families who are Black, Indigenous, Multiracial or Mixed-race, or Persons of Color. This commitment is ongoing and represents our desire to cultivate an organizational culture that encourages anti-racism, equity, and belonging throughout the entire CY community. We devote ourselves to doing this work so that it is woven into the fabric of who we are and what we do — setting higher standards for how we conduct ourselves and our choir every day.
CY commits:
CY recognizes that we are at this time a predominately white organization. We recognize the critical role choral arts play in our culture, and accept our responsibility to make positive change through our work, our practices, and our policies. We commit ourselves to the work of becoming an anti-racist organization, and will work with urgency to end racial inequities in choral singing and our culture.
We invite parents, audiences, and colleagues to hold us accountable.
